It’s widely reported in Italy that the Rossoneri won’t try to buy Dalot outright from Manchester United following this loan spell.

The club is therefore on the lookout for alternatives to Theo Hernandez at left-back.

According to Calciomercato.com, there are three main candidates for the role.

The first is Palmeiras and Uruguay star Viña, who had already been linked with Milan over the last couple of years.

His €18m asking price remains a problem, especially with interest also from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Equally costly is Barcelona’s Junior Firpo, who would be in the region of €15m, and he is also a target for Napoli.

Junior Firpo is considered to be the ideal replacement for Hysaj, who will leave as a free agent at the end of this season.

Albania international Hysaj would be a valuable signing for Milan, as he can play on the left or right of defence.

He is being offered around to various clubs in Italy, including Roma, Lazio and Inter, but Milan remain the favourites.

His agent Mario Giuffredi spoke to Radio Punto Nuovo this evening about the reports.

“Hysaj’s future is still uncertain. He could still go to many clubs, not just Milan. Unfortunately, before deciding on his future, the clubs need to have some clarity on their coaches.”

When asked if the interest from Milan was real, his response was: “No comment.”
