English media report that Benjamin Sesko is on the verge of a move to Arsenal, which could give Milan a clear run at Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

For several weeks now, the Rossoneri and the Gunners have been targeting the same players on the transfer market, as both seek a real centre-forward to lead the line.

With Olivier Giroud joining LAFC as a free agent, Milan have this as a priority and had set their sights on both RB Leipzig hitman Sesko and Bologna forward Zirkzee.

Milan hope Arsenal distracted by Sekso

According to Mirror Sport in the UK, Sesko has now given the all-clear to join Arsenal and would prefer them to Milan, Chelsea or Manchester United.

In a way, this is good news for the San Siro giants, as they had already started to focus more of their attention on Zirkzee instead.

Slovenia international Sesko is also more expensive than Zirkzee with a release clause at €65m, whereas the Dutchman is available for €40m plus commission to his agent.

There is still competition for Zirkzee too, as Juventus and Inter are also tracking him after a great season with Bologna.
