According to multiple reports in Italy, Olivier Giroud should return to group training today and be available to face Napoli on Sunday.

The 35-year-old has missed Milan‘s last five games with a muscle injury leaving Stefano Pioli short of options in attack.

The likes of Rafael Leao, Ante Rebic and Pietro Pellegri have also been forced to the sidelines, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic being the only centre forward available for the Rossoneri.

Tuttosport, Milannews and Sky Sport Italia report Giroud is likely to return to group training today and be available to face Napoli in a key Serie A clash on Sunday.

However, the former Chelsea striker is unlikely to start, so Ibrahimovic should get the nod against the Partenopei, with Giroud possibly coming on as a substitute.

Rebic, Pellegri and Leao are unlikely to recover before new year, meaning they’ll miss Milan’s next two Serie A matches against Napoli and Empoli.

Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers will be Milan’s wingers against the Partenopei, with Rade Krunic or Brahim Diaz deployed behind Ibra.

UPDATE: Giroud trained with the rest of the team in the morning and will be eligible against Napoli on Sunday.

  1. I don’t think he’d be much help anyway. It’d be better not play a match after one day of training.

  2. The only way Gitoud could help is if u pump balls in the penalty area he might get his head on one and score

At his age now he is pretty average at everytning else
