“Everyone knows the affection I have for Fluminense,” the 35-year-old told Instagram Live.

“I was suffering from tuberculosis and they opened their doors to me. I’m forever grateful for this, but I still have objectives to accomplish in Europe.

“I hope to reach them as soon as possible.”

Il Messaggero explains Silva still harbours hopes of making Brazil’s squad for the 2022 World Cup, hence his desire to stay in Europe.

Although the Rossoneri are targeting younger players, it is thought his experience and availability on a free transfer could appeal to them.
