Milan are thankful that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s relationship with Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola broke down. “Otherwise he’d still be there.”

Ibra joined the Nou Camp giants in the summer of 2009 from Inter, only to quit the club just a year later after encountering problems with his tactician in Spain.

“It’s a good job that Ibra did fight with Guardiola,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If that wasn’t the case then he would still be playing his football over there with Barcelona. Instead, it’s the San Siro that can enjoy his skills.

“It’s clear that he has his own psychology and maybe he’ll throw a punch at me tomorrow, but everything has gone perfectly so far.

“He’s an extraordinary player. He has strength charisma and technique.”

The 30-year-old has scored 30 goals in 52 games for the Rossoneri so far in his career.
