Milan have been linked with a bid for 18-year-old Hoffenheim defender Melayro Bogarde, as requested by Ralf Rangnick.

It’s widely reported Rangnick will take over as both coach and director of sport next season, having been in negotiations with the Rossoneri for at least seven months, as confirmed by former director Zvonimir Boban.

Rangnick is therefore already setting the transfer strategy for next term and Goal.com suggest he has pointed to Bogarde.

The Dutch talent only turned 18 last month and is already part of the Hoffenheim squad with two Bundesliga appearances.

He is no stranger to Milan, as his uncle Winston Bogarde played for the Rossoneri for six months in the 1997-98 campaign.

The centre-back had also received offers from Manchester City and Manchester United before moving to Hoffenheim from Feyenoord in 2018.
