While Spanish reports claim Brahim Diaz will join Milan on a dry loan, Sky Sport Italia insist there’s an option and a buy-back option for Real Madrid.

A dry loan means there is just one season at another club and the player then returns to base.

In the situation described by the Italian sources, the Rossoneri would have an option to buy Diaz at the end of the season.

However, Real Madrid also retain a buy-back option, so if Milan did try to buy the player outright, they could guarantee bringing him back for a set fee.

It would at least give the Rossoneri a way of making a profit on the situation, similar to the deal Juventus struck with Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata.

Negotiations continue, but they are whittling down the details at this point and Diaz is expected for a medical next week.
