Theo Hernandez will serve a one-match ban against Empoli and it’s reported that Stefano Pioli could start Alessandro Florenzi at left-back.

The Italy international has mainly played at right-back during the last few years, but the Rossoneri coach could move him to the opposite flank due to Theo’s suspension on Saturday.

The France defender received his fifth yellow card against Napoli last week and won’t be available for the next Serie A match against Empoli at the Stadio Stadio Meazza.

According to MilanNews, Florenzi was tried at left-back during this morning’s training session at Milanello and the former Roma defender is favourite over Ballo Toure to start against the Tuscans. Alessio Romagnoli has recovered and either he or Pierre Kalulu will start at centre-back close to Fikayo Tomori.

Here’s Milan official report after this morning’s training session at Milanello.

“On a sunny and mild morning, the Rossoneri met up for breakfast at Milanello before getting ready for today’s session, during which they continued to look ahead to their next league fixture against Empoli at 20:45 CET on Saturday 12 March. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara were both in attendance to watch the team in action.

The first part of the session saw the group do muscle activation work in the gym. Once on the pitch, the Rossoneri continued their warm-up with themed rondos, after which they played a series of handball games. Possession drills followed, and then it was time to focus on tactics. A practice match on a small pitch brought today’s events to a close.”
