Atalanta's Pierpaolo Marino confirms Daniele Baselli could go to Milan, warning Napoli and Roma about Davide Zappacosta's options.

The director general has been quite open in the past about the links between the Rossoneri and the young midfielder, but he believes matters may have become more complicated now.

“Milan have a moral precedence over the player, but now they are entangled in this chaos over the sale of the club's shares,” he told Sportitalia. “So they're still first in line, but no more than that.

Fiorentina have always been interested, [director Daniele] Pradé has been calling me over the last year.

“As for Zappacosta, there are many teams interested, but this is not the right time for Atalanta to be talking about the transfer market.

“Roma and Napoli, in any case, are not the only teams that are after him.”

There is also interest in Atalanta’s promising young goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.

“Sportiello? He's developing. Perhaps the most likely option is that he'll stay in Bergamo, but when we play at home there are scouts from all over the world.

“Still, right now we must think of securing safety and these rumours are only a nuisance.”

Atalanta changed Coach in early March, with Edy Reja replacing Stefano Colantuono, and Marino wouldn't go back on the decision.

“In terms of points made, he turned us around. We were emerging from four consecutive defeats, now we made six points in five games. There's definitely been a new start.

“Since Reja arrived, we gained a lead of seven points over Cesena to stay away from relegation. Every year we reached safety very much in advance, sometimes we even fought for European qualification.

“The next two games can end the relegation battle very early, they're important but not crucial. A lead of seven points over Cesena can be handled over a little more time, it doesn't have to be done in the space of two games.”
