Paolo Maldini’s contract with Milan expires in less than ten hours and the Rossoneri fans anxiously await his extension.

Maldini is currently at Casa Milan, where he has received the final version of the contract from Elliott. Ricky Massara had joined him in the morning but left in the afternoon, heading to Rimini for the official start of the summer transfer window.

Milan President Paolo Scaroni said in the afternoon that he is confident that both Massara and Maldini will eventually commit their futures to the club and fans are anxiously awaiting the club’s announcement.

There have been reports in Italy that Maldini was ready to sign his contract a few days ago, but he hasn’t yet put pen to paper on a new agreement, so most Milan fans are impatient and some fear he won’t eventually sign his contract.

There’s no doubt that Milan supporters back their former captain, who is seen as the main architect of their first Scudetto in 11 years.

  1. What a joke. It sends a message that Milan are in chaos behind the scenes. An efficient club would have tied him up weeks ago. So there is no money and the brains behind the operation is hanging by a thread.

  2. Maldini embodies and exemplifies the Milan values which I believe this new investors whatever names they are called Elliott or Redbirds! “Il Capitano” lived the good, bad and ugly years of milan and he knows the ingredients needed to stay atop which others do not know. Gazidis may have overseen & ushered in one of the most successful English club to another level in Arsenal fc, but not a club of European pedigree like Milan. thus believe Maldini sees this and believes he has the character to do better than him and that’s why he stood his ground and demands a better decision making power in his contract.
    Forza Maldini forza milan

  3. Gazidis might be a good manager but he is not a winner. Maldini wants to work to win. Elliott trust their man Gazidis and have given him full control, while Maldini wants to have some of those powers it seems.

I don’t have a good feeling. Maybe he should renew for one year and then in a year’s time with Cardinale and Redbird in charge he could negotiate again and get what he wants.
