Reports from Spain suggest that Liverpool have emerged to compete with Milan for Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio.
The 26-year-old Spaniard’s current contract expires with Los Blancos next year and he’s reportedly been informed by the club that his deal will not be renewed. As a result, they’re looking to sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
As reported by Cadena COPE, Milan are interested in making a move for Asensio this summer but now they’re facing competition from Liverpool, who are debating a move.
Real Madrid want around €25-30m for the 26-year-old forward and the player himself could demand a salary of around €6m net per season, so the Rossoneri would have to invest if they want to beat the Reds to his signature.
Asensio scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 42 appearances across all competitions in the season just gone, struggling for consistent minutes.
