Milan are asking Chelsea to halve the €8m price-tag for Cesc Fabregas and can fund the move with Hakan Calhanoglu’s exit, it’s reported.
The interest in Fabregas is no secret, with director Leonardo confirming to Sky Sport Italia this week they were “evaluating” the situation.
His contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he rarely gets playing time in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri.
Nonetheless, Chelsea are demanding €8m to release the Spanish veteran in January.

With Financial Fair Play now a huge issue following the UEFA ruling, they’ll finance the transfer by selling Calhanoglu, who has failed to make an impact at San Siro.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso has grown increasingly frustrated with his inconsistency and the change of tactics to 4-4-2 has not suited him.
Milan paid €22m to sign Calhanoglu in the summer of 2017 and have to make at least most of that money back.
A return to Germany is the most likely solution, with RB Leipzig known to be interested in the Turkey international.
