Milan explored last-minute move for Sanabria

In the final days of the summer transfer window, Milan opened talks with the entourage of Antonio Sanabria to explore a last-minute move, reports suggest.

The Rossoneri were on the hunt for a striker in the summer to provide some cover for Olivier Giroud but were left without a reinforcement as the transfer window started to draw to a close.

Milan pushed for Porto’s Mehdi Taremi but were eventually forced to give up, pushing them to quickly look around for alternatives. They settled for Fiorentina’s Luka Jovic, picking him up in a unique low-cost deal.

As reported by Francesco Guerrieri for Calciomercato.com, Milan sounded out several options before signing Jovic and one of these was Torino’s Sanabria.

The Rossoneri contacted his agents to understand the margins of a move for the 27-year-old and the striker was open to the move, but the Granata proved problematic.

Torino would only consider a definitive sale and wanted a fee considered too high by Milan, leading them to switch focus to Jovic.
