Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are reportedly keeping a close eye on Hellas Verona talent Ivan Ilic as Lazio consider a possible move.

The Rossoneri are still looking to pick up a new midfielder this month following the departure of Franck Kessie and they’re considering a number of options after they failed to secure Renato Sanches. Recent reports suggest that Milan are following Verona’s Adrien Tamèze, and now it seems as if they’re considering a teammate of his as well.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Maldini and Massara are carefully considering making a move for Ilic, either this summer or in the future should he not make the move to Lazio at some point this month.

The former Manchester City talent impressed last season for the Gialloblu, scoring one goal and providing four assists in 32 Serie A appearances. His work saw Lazio, as well as some German clubs, start following him with particular attention.

The Biancocelesti are unlikely to make a move until they finalise the sale of Luis Alberto to Sevilla, and if this doesn’t happen then Milan would seemingly have the edge.

  1. Ilic plays further back than CDK, he’s more defensive/box to box type.

Wouldn’t be the worst move as a squad option but surely Milan can do better.

  2. ahhh the acronym and abbreviation loving plastic carbuncle.

‘poor version of De Ketelaere’? Ilic plays in the bennacer role ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️ Why is FI a hive for plastic and clueless muppets?

  3. @ DB

I watched him play many matches for Verona as one of the two attacking midfielders behind their strikers, while physically he’s very similar to CDK and also left footed.

Also, two years ago CDK played almost an entire season as a central midfielder for Brugge.
