Milan are set to beat out Arsenal and Juventus for Renato Sanches, who will be leaving a Lille side in transition in the summer.

The French side are preparing to overhaul their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window following their Champions League exit to Chelsea earlier this week. A number of their players are expected to depart including defender Sven Botman and forward Jonathan David.

As reported by L’Equipe, Renato Sanches is one of the big names who’ll be leaving Lille in the summer and he seems set to join Milan, who have been incredibly keen to pick him up for some time now.

The Portuguese midfielder impressed in Lille’s Ligue 1 victory last season but a move to Barcelona collapsed due to an injury in the summer. They’ve since moved onto other targets, allowing the Rossoneri to get the edge over the interested Arsenal and Juventus.

Sanches has made 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1705 minutes. In that time, he’s scored one goal and provided five assists.

  1. His injury record is really worrying, and it usually gets worse in Milan, but when this guy is fit he’s almost unplayable.
