There is good news for Milan, as goalkeeper Mike Maignan showed significant progress in today’s tests and is on track to make his comeback against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Rossoneri have missed their shot-stopper for most of the campaign due to various injury problems, sustaining a calf issue on international duty in September that ruled him out of France’s World Cup squad in Qatar and then suffering a relapse.

A statement released by the medical staff to Sky Sport Italia confirms progress was seen in his recovery and he will continue the planned treatment.

The objective for Maignan and coach Stefano Pioli is for him to be ready to play in the Champions League Round of 16 tie against Tottenham Hotspur.

Maignan was only able to make nine competitive appearances for Milan so far this season between Serie A and the Champions League, the most recent against Napoli on September 18.

Milan will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League at San Siro on February 14, then play the second leg in London on March 8.
