Milan are planning ahead for the summer transfer window and are interested in picking up Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, reports detail.

The Rossoneri will face Spezia in an important Serie A clash this week, a must-win match if they want to stay involved in the top four race, before playing the second leg of their Champions League semi-final with Inter.

Milan disappointed in the first leg, losing 2-0, and one key factor that led to their defeat was the disappointing work of the midfield. The club know that reinforcements are needed if they want to fight for the Scudetto next season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan are thinking about signing Loftus-Cheek in the summer, believing the Chelsea man could add another layer to Stefano Pioli’s midfield.

The 27-year-old Englishman’s contract expires with the Blues in 2024, lowering the costs of a possible deal this summer.

Loftus-Cheek has been linked with moves to Italy in the past, with Maurizio Sarri once keen to bring him to Lazio.
