Milan drop Vlasic, fight Sevilla for Jesus Corona

Milan target Nikola Vlasic of CSKA Moscow is now close to West Ham United, as the Rossoneri instead battle Sevilla for FC Porto for Jesus ‘Tecatito’ Corona.

Vlasic had been linked with a move to San Siro throughout the summer and was desperate to leave CSKA Moscow for the next stage of his career.

However, Milan would not meet the asking price of €30m, especially as the Russian club refused to allow a loan with option to buy and wanted the cash upfront.

According to Calciomercato.com, now Vlasic is very close to West Ham United, who are getting close to that price-tag of €30m.

Meanwhile, MilanNews.it, Diario AS and Sportitalia among others note that Stefano Pioli’s men are instead in constant contact with Jesus Corona’s agents trying to strike a deal.

The 28-year-old Mexico international plays on the right side of midfield, but can also work in a more attacking role or even as a right-back.

His contract with FC Porto only runs to June 2022 and he left FC Twente in 2015 for €10.5m.

The asking price is believed to be circa €12m, but Milan face competition from Sevilla, as per Sky Sport Italia.

Last season, Jesus Corona contributed three goals and 13 assists in 48 competitive games for the club.
