It was reported last night that the Rossoneri were considering the Portuguese international and Asier Illaramendi, after deciding not to pursue Roberto Soriano.
After missing out on the latter, it also appears the Diavolo will not be adding Moutinho to their midfield this summer.
SportMediaset note that the 28-year-old is sidelined until mid-October with an ankle injury, while Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is in need of a midfielder now.
The news outlet therefore believes that Milan have ruled out the possibility of signing Moutinho, and will focus on other targets.
It’s not clear if they could return to the Soriano option, or step up talks for Axel Witsel of Zenit St Petersburg, who is also wanted by Juventus.
