Milan director Geoffrey Moncada is in the stands of the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, personally scouting Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

The Rossoneri are clearly in the market for a new centre forward, still mostly relying on veteran Olivier Giroud, but are not expected to invest heavily until the summer transfer window. In the meantime, Luka Jovic has started to find his footing in the Lombardy capital.

Zirkzee has been a key part of Thiago Motta’s Bologna squad this term, netting eight goals and providing four assists in 20 matches across all competitions. His work has helped the club climb to the upper echelons of the league table, putting them in contention for a European spot.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan director Moncada is keeping a close eye on Zirkzee as Bologna face Genoa in their Friday evening Serie A clash, keen to personally see the striker in action.

The 22-year-old has a €40m release clause in his contract but it’s only valid for Bayern Munich, the club he left for Bologna back in August 2022.

The Rossoblu are also not open to a sale in the winter transfer window, meaning Milan and the interested Napoli would have to wait until the summer.

  1. Is there any player Milan are not going to buy! I know he fits their profile but come on ! As soon as a player shines in a team Milan claim they are buying them!
