Milan are torn between Bologna's Amadou Diawara and Real Madrid's Mateo Kovacic, say reports.
The Rossoneri are still looking for one midfielder for Vincenzo Montella, and both deals present benefits and challenges. The 19-year-old midfielder is a talented prospect and joint-CEO Adriano Galliani met with his agent yesterday.
The player is apparently open to the move, but the Felsinei are not very happy about the idea of sending Diawara away on a loan, and would rather sell him outright.

There is also the problem that competition for the Guinean is very tough, with Napoli renewing their attacks for the player and Aston Villa willing to offer €17m – an amount which beats Milan's proposed €15m option-to-buy clause.
The Diavolo's other primary target is Real Madrid's Kovacic, but much will depend on what the Spanish club decides to do.
Kovacic is believed by the Gazzetta dello Sport to be one of three players that could end up leaving the club, with the other two being Isco and James Rodriguez.
Milan are ready to pounce for the Croatian, and may even be willing to accept a 'recompra' deal such as the one Juventus struck for Alvaro Morata.
This would involve buying the player for a fixed amount, but giving Real Madrid the right to buy him back at a fixed price one or two years later.
