Davide Calabria has reportedly suffered a calf strain, which means the Milan full-back will miss games against Fiorentina and Atletico Madrid.
The defender pulled out of international duty ahead of Italy’s World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland, which kicks off this evening at 19.45 GMT.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the tests performed by the Milan medical staff showed a strain to the calf muscle.
That means at least a couple of weeks out, so Calabria will not be available for the upcoming Rossoneri matches against Fiorentina in Serie A and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
It is another blow for coach Stefano Pioli, who also saw Fode Ballo-Toure pick up a muscular problem on international duty with Senegal.
This leaves only Alessandro Florenzi and Pierre Kalulu for the right-back role.
Calabria turns 25 next month and has been in excellent form so far this season, contributing two goals and an assist in 14 appearances between Serie A and the Champions League.
