According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan defender Pierre Kalulu will likely remain out of action for four months after suffering a thigh injury against Napoli on Sunday.
The French defender was subbed off after just 18 minutes at the Stadio Maradona this past weekend. It has emerged that he picked up a lesion to the left thigh, which will require a specialist consultation and, almost certainly, force the 23-year-old to undergo surgery.
According to Tuesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, page five, Kalulu will remain out of action for at least four months.
The report claims Kalulu is destined to undergo surgery, which will probably be performed in Finland.
Argentinean defender Marco Pellegrino also suffered an injury against Napoli. The 21-year-old has been diagnosed with a fracture to the left foot and according to Gazzetta, he will remain on the sidelines until mid-December.
Injuries to Kalulu, Pellegrino and Simon Kjaer mean Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori will be the only first-team centre-backs available for Stefano Pioli for a few weeks.
