Victor Boniface completed his medical tests ahead of a move to Milan yesterday but reports from Italy claim now that due to a concern over the striker’s right knee, the Rossoneri are trying to get Leverkusen to lower their price and are looking for alternatives.

According to what has been reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport, an issue with Boniface’s knee was identified during the thorough medical tests and the Rossoneri will decide in the next 24 hours whether or not to proceed with a move for the Nigerian forward.

Gazzetta claim that Milan are considering a move for Sporting forward Conrad Harder, whilst Rasmus Hojlund, Nicolas Jackson and Breel Embolo have also been named as potential candidates.

Boniface situation faces fresh twist ahead of Milan move

Whilst Boniface will likely still sign for Milan, there are question marks to be raised over the player’s fitness. The reports suggest that the Rossoneri could still sign two strikers but this would appear unlikely given the club’s limited financial capability.

For now, all eyes are on the Nigerian forward. Milan may be able to cut the cost of the player’s rumoured loan-with-option from Leverkusen or they may decide to abandon their pursuit altogether.

  1. “Limited Financial Capability”? They will have brought in 200mil in income bonuses granted… Sure they can afford an investment into a proper striker.
