Milan starlet Charles De Ketelaere didn’t attend this morning’s training session at Milanello due to a muscle injury and will miss tomorrow’s match against Chelsea.

The 21-year-old was introduced in the second half of Saturday’s Serie A game against Juventus but won’t be available against Chelsea in the Champions League tomorrow.

The ex-Club Burgge starlet didn’t train with the team this morning and won’t be included in the squad list for the match against the Blues.

He should be replaced by Brahim Diaz, who scored against Juventus on Saturday.

De Ketelaere worked in the gym this morning while Junior Messias returned to the pitch, partially training with the rest of the team.

It’s still unclear whether CDK will recover for Sunday’s game against Verona, while Messias could be available against Chelsea

Directors Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara and Ivan Gazidis watched the training session from the touchline.

The Rossoneri will also be without Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Alexis Saelemaekers, Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mike Maignan against the Blues.

  1. Whilst I back the quota of homegrown players, the denial of utilising an entire first team squad by UEFA is a complete and utter travesty. So with Charles out, Milan can’t use Adli because we could only register so many players. So that means that in Diaz, we have a player who hasn’t played regularly suddenly being required to play 3 games in a week. complete and utter travesty. Can’t use adli or vrankx, and could only add a 3rd keeper in an emergency situation.

The whole system is a smack in the face of clubs facing financial challenges, and on top of that, you can’t register your full first team.

  2. Yea but that’s only because Milan don’t have have enough Italians/homegrown players which is why UEFA restricted their numbers.

  3. ACM1899.

The quota for homegrown players is there regardless. I’m saying that there should be a requirement on minimum number of homegrown players, but we should also be free to utilise our whole first team squad.
