Milan expect Rafael Leao to be fully fit for their upcoming clashes with Stade Rennais in the Europa League and Atalanta in Serie A.
The 24-year-old Portuguese star did not start in the painful 4-2 defeat to Monza on Sunday, coming off the bench at half time to try and turn things around following the team’s initial 2-0 deficit.
He was ultimately unable to impact proceedings, watching on in horror as the Biancorossi kept all three points.
Leao suffered a calf problem in Milan’s 3-0 win over Rennes last week, forcing him off the pitch in the 62nd minute, and it was his decision not to start against Monza, something confirmed by coach Stefano Pioli.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Leao has recovered now and is set to return to full squad training on Tuesday, preparing for Milan’s coming Europa League knockout playoff second leg against Rennes.
The 24-year-old has continued to be an important figure for the Rossoneri this term, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 30 games across all competitions. In recent weeks, he’s been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain as a result of the Kylian Mbappe saga.
