Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has revealed that he is considering a switch to a three-man defence next season.
Leonardo Bonucci’s arrival means Milan could play him alongside Alessio Romagnoli and fellow new boy Mateo Musacchio at the back, and Montella admits the idea is in the pipeline.
“I’m evaluating the players that I have available on a daily basis,” he said after the Rossoneri’s 3-1 friendly defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

“I have so many players, I think they’re capable of offering different tactical solutions.
“Bonucci’s arrival, for example, could see me favour a three-man defence, but it’s difficult to know for sure right now.
“I couldn’t use all the new players, many of whom will arrive on Wednesday. Of course, at the moment, Kessie’s ahead of them all.
“In fact, I’ve found it hard to take him off because of his impressive performances.”
Montella also discussed the first leg of Milan’s Europa League qualifier against Universitatea Craiova on July 27.
“My head is already on the game on the 27th, although we certainly won’t be in our best shape,” he continued.
“Our training sessions are solely geared towards this challenge.”
