According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan may sit down with Real Madrid to negotiate a lower transfer fee for Brahim Diaz, who could join the Rossoneri on a permanent deal in the summer.

Brahim made his return to San Siro on a two-year loan in 2021 and the Rossoneri can secure his services on a permanent deal for €22m in June.

Real Madrid have an option to re-sign the Spaniard for €26m and Tuttosport has recently reported that the Merengues could consider welcoming Brahim back to the club, especially if Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos leave at the end of their contracts.

Gazzetta confirms that Brahim’s future at Milan depends on his final six months at San Siro, but with four goals and one assist in 17 appearances this term, the Spaniard is the best attacking midfielder at Stefano Pioli’s disposal despite the purchases of Charles De Ketelaere and Yacine Adli.

Gazzetta highlights that Milan and Real Madrid are on excellent terms, also thanks to Carlo Ancelotti, so the Rossoneri could sit down with the Merengues in the coming months to negotiate a lower transfer fee for Brahim, who is happy at Milan and would be pleased to stay at the club.

RedBird Capital Partners have recently completed Milan’s takeover, but this doesn’t mean Paolo Maldini will have a more substantial transfer budget in the summer transfer window.

De Ketelaere was Milan’s most expensive signing last summer having joined the Rossoneri for €32m, so the Serie A champions would be happy to sign Brahim for a lower transfer fee if they have a chance.
