With Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze injured, Stefano Pioli is reportedly planning an audacious new plan for the Milan attack, including a change of tactical system.

The game against Udinese kicks off on Saturday at 19.45 GMT.

There are numerous absentees for the Rossoneri, including Pulisic, Chukwueze, Pierre Kalulu, Marco Pellegrino, Mattia Caldara, Marco Sportiello and Ismael Bennacer.

It had been suggested that to maintain the 4-3-3 formation, Pioli would bring in Luka Romero or Noah Okafor for the right side, leaving Rafael Leao to the left and Olivier Giroud as the centre-forward.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach is planning a change of formation to accommodate the use of two pure strikers, specifically Giroud and Luka Jovic.

It could be a switch to a 4-4-2 with Leao in a slightly deeper role on the left, or moving him slightly more central as a trequartista.

At least Malick Thiaw returns after his suspension to bolster the options in defence.
