La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given the green light to sign Benjamin Sesko, and the Rossoneri are confident they can reach an agreement with RB Leipzig.

Sesko has emerged as Milan‘s leading candidate to replace Olivier Giroud in 2024-25 as the France international will join LAFC at the end of his contract next month.

The Rossoneri had been linked with Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee for several weeks, but seem to have changed their priority, going for RB Leipzig star Sesko instead.

Milan confident about Sesko deal after Ibrahimovic’s green light

The latest report from La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Sesko has ‘convinced’ all Milan directors, including RedBird advisor Ibrahimovic. Sesko is a classic centre-forward with similar characteristics to Ibra.

A tall striker with excellent physicality and good technical skills, Sesko ticks all the boxes for Milan, given that the Rossoneri are looking for a strong, young striker with international experience.

The 20-year-old has 16 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season, including two in the Champions League.

He has a €50m clause that can be raised to €75m, but Milan are confident they won’t need to pay the full clause to secure his signature in the summer.

Gazzetta reports that some foreign clubs are also interested in the Slovakia international, but Milan are confident of being in the front row and hope to reach an agreement with Sesko’s club shortly.
