Paraguayan youth prospect Hugo Cuenca is set to sign a three-year contract with Milan today.

The Rossoneri have been working hard to strengthen Stefano Pioli’s squad this summer, securing a key deal for talented forward Charles De Ketelaere, but Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara’s focus isn’t exclusively on the first team, with the pair also keeping a sharp eye out for youth talents.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are working to complete the signing of 17-year-old Paraguayan talent Cuenca, who will sign a three-year deal with the club after leaving CD Capiatá for around €500,000.

The teenage midfielder holds a Spanish passport, crucial for registration reasons, and he’s already featured in the Viareggio Cup with the Rossoneri back in March, making four appearances.

Cuenca has also become a part of the Paraguayan national team, making three appearances for the Under-16 squad. He’ll likely be integrated into either the Under-18 or Primavera squad next season.
