Ex-Inter Coach Mircea Lucescu believes both Milan clubs need time and a long term plan in order to turn their fortunes around.
Inter and Milan are both embroiled in a battle to qualify for the Europa League and the Romanian tactician says Italian football needs both San Siro sides to be competitive.
“They need time to rebuild and return to the top,” Lucescu said to Panorama.it. “Milan changed their Coach not long ago after losing many great players.
“Inter are at the end of a cycle without having known how to manage the transition from Mourinho’s winning team to the one now.
“Both of them must now put in place a clear plan to get back to the top.
“What is certain is that Italian football needs two strong Milan teams to be competitive in Europe.
“In order for that to happen, both teams need two or three new high level additions.”
