Milan are on the verge of securing Sergiño Dest on loan from Barcelona with an option to buy, claim reports in Spain and Italy.

Relevo in Spain and Sky Sport Italia in Italy both have the same version of events, noting that the clubs are close to a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season.

If he was to make the move permanent, Dest would remain at San Siro on a three-year contract.

The 21-year-old right-back has also been linked with Manchester United and Villarreal and has 17 senior caps for the United States of America.

He only joined Barcelona from Ajax in the summer of 2020 for €21m, but struggled with repeated injury problems, mostly muscular in nature.

Dest has 72 competitive appearances for the Catalans, contributing three goals and five assists.

Milan have begun the search for a new right-back after Alessandro Florenzi went off injured during last night’s 0-0 Serie A draw with Sassuolo.

  1. thats good for milan, man utd were fater him says fabrizio romano – and he’s way better than florenzi

  2. Since we are going full throttled American, let’s make Pulisic the absolute American dream for the right wing.

  3. Dest is really Dutch with American roots he hasn’t ever lived in America so its really a Dutch right back who happens to play for US

  4. I think he will be transitioning to wing. He has the skill set for the position and at least with the USMNT, he has historically been a better player when he gets forward.

  5. Really not nice to read that he suffers from repeated muscular problems …… most Milan players seem to suffer from this condition throughout the year ……
