Milan have reportedly agreed terms to extend Ismael Bennacer’s contract until June 2027, setting a €50m release clause.

According to Sky Sport Italia, this latest agreement will learn the midfielder just under €4m per season including performance-related bonuses.

The 25-year-old Algeria international is currently only tied to the Rossoneri until June 2024, having joined from Empoli in the summer of 2019 at a cost of €17.2m.

Of Moroccan and Algerian heritage and born in France, Bennacer opted to represent Algeria at international level in 2016.

The latest reports point to an extension at San Siro that will include the already-existing €50m release clause, which will remain unaffected going forward.

Milan are working on more contract extensions for the next few months, above all Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud.

Bennacer has also attracted his fair share of Premier League suitors, including Arsenal, where he already spent some of his early career.

So far this season, Bennacer has contributed one goal and one assist in 22 games between Serie A and the Champions League.

  1. Well Done. Well worth the 4mil figure but the release clause is too low for his caliber. Bennacer is a clutch player worth considerably more.
