Milan are reported to be very close to securing a deal with AZ Alkmaar for Tijjan Reijnders, plus setting up meetings for Davide Frattesi and Alvaro Morata.

Midfielder Reijnders turns 25 later this month and seems to have his heart set on joining the Rossoneri, to the degree it is reported he visited the city of Milan this summer to get a feel for the place.

The formal negotiations between the clubs began today in earnest and already seem to be on the verge of an agreement.

This is because the asking price was €20m, while Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia claim the offer was €19m.

AZ Alkmaar had already turned down proposals from both Spain and England that were in the region of €14m plus bonuses.

Milan coach Stefano Pioli chose Reijnders as the ideal replacement for Sandro Tonali, who completed his transfer to Newcastle United today for €70m plus €10m in bonuses and a cut of the sell-on fee.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio also claims that Milan have set up a meeting with Sassuolo on Tuesday to discuss their opening bid for Frattesi, already wanted by Inter and Roma.

The same source adds that a summit is expected over the next few days for Morata, who has a release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract.
