Milan are reportedly close to signing Mike Maignan while Gigio Donnarumma is likely to leave the club as a free agent.

According to Calciomercato.com the move of the French goalkeeper to the San Siro is almost a done deal.

Maignan had emerged as the priority target for the Rossoneri if they hadn’t reached an agreement to extend the contract of Donnarumma.

Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo reports an official announcement from Milan is expected in the coming days.

‘Milan directors understood they had little chance of extending with Donnarumma. Therefore they pushed to finalize the deal with the French goalkeeper,’ Longo wrote on Twitter.

Maignan would join Milan for €15m plus add-ons and would sign a €3m-a-year deal.

According to previous reports, Milan had handed Donnarumma an ultimatum, urging him to sign a contract extension before the end of the season.

Milan had offered the 22-year-old an €8m-a-year deal, but Raiola reportedly wanted at least €10m-a-year and a commission in the region of €20m.

Juventus reportedly put €10m on the table to sign Donnarumma who has also been offered to Barcelona.

According to the report, Donnarumma could remain at the club as the backup goalkeeper if he changes his mind and decides to stay at the San Siro.
