Milan have concluded their search for a new sporting director, deciding to promote chief youth scout Antonio D’Ottavio, reports suggest.

The Rossoneri did not immediately appoint a replacement for Frederic Massara, who left last month alongside technical director Paolo Maldini.

Milan instead decided to entrust their market work to CEO Giorgio Furlani, chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and the opinions of coach Stefano Pioli, allowing them to calmy search for a long-term replacement.

As reported by Corriere and Calciomercato.com, Milan have now decided to internally promote D’Ottavio, who is the chief youth scout, to become the new sporting director.

D’Ottavio has been with the Rossoneri since July 2017 and previously spent time at Inter, Sunderland and Torino.

In recent years, he has worked closely with Moncada and become his right-hand man at the club, making the appointment an obvious choice for the club’s management.

Milan have already been hard at work in the transfer market, selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle and completing a deal with Chelsea for Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
