A Milan Derby is breaking out over Cagliari midfielder Nicolò Barella, but it’s reported the Sardinian favours Inter over the Rossoneri.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, Milan are suddenly diving back into the race for the Italy international.

They hope to take advantage of Inter’s refusal to go above €35m cash, as the Nerazzurri are trying to introduce player exchanges to lower the €50m asking price.

The proposal from Milan would be €35m plus another €10m in various bonuses, more or less the same approach that was taken with Lucas Paqueta in January.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio insists Barella has already made up his mind and negotiations with Inter are already at a very advanced stage.

Barella is rumoured to be an Inter supporter since childhood, so if the two offers are relatively similar, he’ll go with the Nerazzurri.
