RedBird Capital owner Gerry Cardinale has reportedly conducted a meeting with Milan directors Ricky massara and Paolo Maldini to discuss the club’s priorities for the upcoming summer transfer window according to an exclusive from Calciomercato on Monday morning.

As per the report, the executives supposedly met in a hotel room in the centre of Milan on Monday morning with the intention of mapping out the team’s strategy and available budget in the market. 

Calciomercato writes that the Rossoneri will have somewhere in the region of €50m to invest during the months of July and August, and have several positions that need filling. 

Before any arrivals come through the door at Milanello, the priority is said to be the renewal of Mike Maignan’s contract to follow on from Rafael Leao’s long-term commitment to the club at the beginning of June, 

In order to raise additional funds, the Rossoneri are prepared to part company with a number of first-team squad members, with Ante Rebic, Divock Origi and Junior Messias among the names listed by Calciomercato that Milan are ready to sacrifice. 

Monday’s report claims that Milan are still ‘close’ to agreeing a deal for Eintract Frankfurt forward Daichi Kamada upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2022-23 season. 

Additionally, negotiations with Chelsea over a deal for midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek are hotting up with a transfer fee suggested to be in the region of €20m.
