Brahim Diaz is shining for Milan, but his future at San Siro remains uncertain with growing reports claiming the Rossoneri do not have an option to sign him permanently from Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old inspired the Rossoneri’s win over Napoli in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, by conducting the counter-attack that led to Ismael Bennacer’s winner.

This is his third consecutive season at the Stadio Meazza, where his performances have steadily improved over the years.

Brahim ended his first campaign in Italy with five goals in 27 appearances, followed by four in 29 games in 2012-22 and this season’s six goals in 34 matches. Thanks to his four assists, Brahim has directly contributed to 10 Milan goals this term.

Nevertheless, his future with the Serie A giants remains uncertain with Sky Sport Italia confirming Milan do not have an option to make his move permanent at the end of the season. Relevo in Spain and Sportitalia had first reported it in February.

With no option to buy available, Milan must sit down with Real Madrid hoping to reach an economic agreement to permanently keep the 23-year-old at the Stadio Meazza.

It remains to be seen which plans Real Madrid have regarding the future of the Spaniard, also considering that two of Carlo Ancelotti’s attacking midfielders, Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio, see their contracts expire at the end of the season.
