Stefano Pioli finds himself short of options in the middle of the park as Franck Kessié will be suspended against Lazio while Ismael Bennacer is injured.

Last, but not least, Sandro Tonali suffered a muscle injury against Sassuolo on Sundayand could be forced to remain on the sidelines for the last game of 2020.

If the former Brescia man won’t be fit to play against the Biancocelesti, Rade Krunic would be the only centre midfielder at Pioli’s disposal for the match against Lazio.

If that would be the case, the Italian tactician could change Hakan Calhanoglu’s position, deploying him as a centre midfielder to partner for former Empoli, reports Calciomercato.com

The likes of Brahim Diaz, Alexis Saelemaekers and Jens Petter Hauge would then play behind the sole striker Rafael Leao.

The alternative would be to change the role of Davide Calabria, using him in midfield with Diogo Dalot starting as a right-back.

The physical conditions of Tonali will be assessed tomorrow and the same is true of Ante Rebic who missed Milan’s trip at Sassuolo on Sunday due to an injury.
