Milan boss Pioli reunited with stolen Serie A winner’s medal

Milan coach Stefano Pioli has been reunited with the Serie A title winner’s medal that was stolen from him during celebrations.

The incident came to light later that evening when Pioli let it be known to the media that the medal had gone missing and he sent out an appeal to get it back.

The mystery turned out to be rather easy to solve thanks to the culprit posting an image of the stolen medal on Instagram Stories with the caption ‘Thanks Pioli.’

This allowed the police in Reggio Emilia to track down and recover the medal, which was handed back to the Milan coach today.

The Serie A title ceremony was held at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia, where Milan beat Sassuolo 3-0 to secure their 19th Scudetto, the first since 2010-11.

It was also the first ever piece of silverware in Pioli’s coaching career, so the medal has a very special place in his heart.

The Lega Serie A had pledged to provide him with a replica in case the original had not been found.
