Milan-Bologna broadcast blocked in Russia

Milan’s goalless draw against Bologna on the weekend was not broadcast in Russia  due to peace messages in support of Ukraine.

There has been an outpouring of support in Serie A for Ukraine following the Russian Invasion earlier this year, with many clubs adopting messages of support on their pre-match warm up gear, or calling for peace on their big screens. League matches were also scheduled to kick off five minutes later in order to highlight the situation.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, the match between Milan and Bologna was not broadcast in Russia due to the messages of support for Ukraine and calls for peace seen during the match.

Messages were seen on the big screen alongside Ukrainian flags, prompting the decision in Russia to not broadcast the game.

It’s likely that the Russian government are getting increasingly tense due to the fierce resistance put up by the Ukrainians, which explains incredibly pointed actions like this.
