In addition, the Rossoneri hired private investigators Carpinvest srl to follow four reporters: Enrico Currò and Luca Pagni of La Repubblica, Carlo Festa of Il Sole 24 Ore and Tobia De Stefano of Libero.
The information emerged as part of former CEO Fassone’s lawsuit for wrongful dismissal against the club.
“The investigative activity was known to the whole board,” Francesco Rotondi told La Repubblica.
“The decision was agreed and endorsed by the board of directors to respond to an information leak.
“It was a collective decision, taken by mutual agreement.
“It was a defensive investigation, regulated by the law. My client always reported to the board, so the name of the investigators was suggested by someone else.”
Current Milan President Paolo Scaroni was on the board as a representative of Elliott Management, so it appears Fassone’s lawyer is alleging that he knew about the private investigators.
