“Other than the difference in condition I want to remind you that they were finalists in the Europa League,” Montella said of his opponents at a Press conference.
“We know what we have to work on. I see that the boys are trying to put my ideas into practice, you can’t think that in 15 days it’s possible to resolve all the problems and become a great team.
“I liked the approach, the team is leaving everything on the pitch, but we are at the start of the journey. It’s normal that some defeats come.”
Montella added that he is looking forward to linking up with forward Carlos Bacca again, having opted to leave the Colombian forward behind in order to work on his fitness.
“I like strong players and Bacca is strong. We left him at home so that he could work, I expect to find him in good shape.”
