Milan have made an approach to Villarreal for right-sided winger and Nigeria international Samuel Chukweze, claim multiple reports.
Sky Sport Italia are confident the first contact has been made for the player who just turned 24 last month.
He has also been linked with Real Madrid, but is seen as the effective mirror to Rafael Leao on the left in his attacking style.
There is versatility here too, because Chukweze can also play on the left side when needed, so could fill in for Leao on occasion as well.
His contract only runs to June 2024 and he is a product of the Villarreal academy.
There is some confusion over the asking price, as some sources point to €20m, others aiming for circa double that sum.
He scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 50 competitive games for Villarreal this season.
Marcus Thuram is a free agent from Borussia Monchengladbach, but Chukweze is an intriguing alternative who can play in different roles.
