Reports in Germany suggest Milan have made a formal approach to Eintracht Frankfurt for defender Evan Ndicka.

The centre-back turns 23 next month and his contract with the Bundesliga side is due to expire in June 2023.

That means he is on the market and Bild claim that Milan have contacted Eintracht Frankfurt directly to begin negotiations.

He is a France Under-21 international who came up through the Auxerre youth academy, moving to Frankfurt in the summer of 2018 for €5.5m.

Ndicka already has 104 Bundesliga appearances under his belt, in which he scored nine goals and provided seven assists, an impressive tally for a central defender.

That’s also because he can play at left-back, and versatility is what Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli is seeking in his squad this season.

Milan have also been talking to Tottenham Hotspur on a possible loan with option to buy for centre-back Japhet Tanganga.

  1. “Reports in Germany suggest” , so may not be true. What is real , Milan finished 16 points clear of Juve . My thought is we continue to use the same transfer strategy as it seems to work. It may also be the only way we can afford to do it right now.

  2. Yep, if it ain’t broken… No point splashing out on overpaid, over-priced players who won’t win you anything and falling foul of FFP in the process.

I’ve envied how Atalanta were run for years so its good to see Milan being as shrewd about their business.

  3. With this kind of transfer strategy, we can only be blacklisted as customers with a lot of European clubs! In the future, as soon as we show interest in a particular player, everyone will immediately run away from us, because they will know that we do not have money, or we have some subjective value of our own that is much less than that of another club wants !
