Milan continue their search for a new striker and the latest candidate – along with Alvaro Morata – is Germany international Niclas Füllkrug.

Multiple sources are confident the deal is done for Morata, who has a release clause in his contract with Atletico Madrid and agreed personal terms.

He can have his medical next week, after Sunday’s EURO 2024 Final when Spain take on England in Berlin.

However, the Rossoneri also want another forward to fill the hole left by Olivier Giroud’s move to LAFC, feeling that Luka Jovic is not going to be enough.

Tammy Abraham was mentioned from Roma, but is expensive at €25m and has a terrible injury record.

Milan turn to Füllkrug

Sky Sport Italia suggest a more intriguing alternative in Germany international Füllkrug, who at the age of 31 might be ready to leave Borussia Dortmund.

He only joined them a year ago from Werder Bremen and spent his entire career in the Bundesliga, but is interested in another adventure abroad.

Füllkrug has 13 goals in 21 senior caps for Germany, including two in five games at EURO 2024, even if all of those appearances were off the bench.

He has also been linked with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

  1. Milan need players who have hunger and fight. Fullkrug is exactly that kind of player. A largely overlooked top pro who has fought hard to be where he is. He is exactly the type who will give his all.
If milan create half of the chances that giroud wasted last season, he would score 20 goals minimum. Not Abraham, and definitely not morata.

  2. it’s the same ideology again – let’s get foreign veterans who will deliver NOW and Italian football can WAIT.

  3. Spain, with a slightly smaller population manages to bring their youth into La Liga senior clubs.

Seria A clubs can’t do the same? Please, save the excuses and admit that Seria A clubs discredit their own Italian Nazionale interest.
