Milan fans are calling for Stefano Pioli’s head, but after 23 rounds he has exactly the same points as during the Scudetto-winning campaign.

The coach oversaw a comeback 3-2 victory away to Frosinone this evening, taking them to 49 points after 23 Serie A matches.

That is exactly the same tally that his Rossoneri had at this stage of the 2021-22 season when they were on their way towards the title.

In that campaign, they were again only in third place, on level terms with Napoli and four points adrift of Inter.

As things stand this weekend, Inter are top and five points clear, but with two games in hand, to be played against Juventus and Atalanta.

Juve are four points ahead of Milan and have one game in hand, facing Inter in the Derby d’Italia tomorrow evening.

So far this term, Milan have played 14 wins, four draws and four defeats in Serie A, scoring 43 goals and conceding 25.
