Milan have joined Torino, Atalanta and Napoli in the race for Crotone talent Junior Messias.

The 30-year-old Brazilian spent most of his career in the lower leagues and semi-professional teams, even taking a part-time job delivering washing machines to make ends meet.

His debut Serie A season resulted in Crotone’s relegation, but Messias certainly made his mark with nine goals and four assists.

Torino had been in advanced talks, but La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that now several other Serie A sides have come into the running too.

The asking price for Crotone is €12m, so Milan, Atalanta and Napoli are also showing an interest in Messias.

He can cover several different roles, as a support striker, a trequartista behind the forwards, or even as a creative midfielder.

When it comes to the Rossoneri, Messias would be seen as a natural heir to Hakan Calhanoglu, whose contract expires on June 30.
